For Starters:

Dear Teens,
First of all welcome to the site! This site was created to get teens invloved in important environmental issues. Sure teachers and parents talk about going green all the time, but all we do is just shrug it off. It's not like we don't want to be green, right? It's just hard, I mean take a 5 minute shower? Me? No never! But there are a lot of great things we can do to help the planet, and I'm hoping through this site you'll learn how to get invloved and really help the earth! Each week there is going to be a special newsletter, with information on a bunch of different green subjects, this way you can stay updated therefore STAY GREEN!

It's that time of the year again!

First of all wow I haven't been on the site in a while and I apologize! Life has just been so busy lately! It's important to remember that the holidays are about giving not recieving! So why not give your time to a cause you think is important, from donating money to a worthy organization to working at a soup kitchen. I'm encouraging you to not just be green during the holiday season but generous and helpful in general. I'm renewing my surfrider membership this Christmas and donating food to my local food pantry. The most important thing is to get involved. Remember even the littlest thing can make a big difference. so go ahead put up your holiday decorations and bake a batch of cookies and try to be as green as possible. Use lights that use less energy and after baking cookies leave the oven open so that the heat will warm up your house! But most of all don't forget that giving doesn't just stop after the holidays seasons and that you should give all year long! Happy Holidays!

Happy Earth Day!

Dear Teens,
I know I haven't been on lately, but I'm back and what a more wonderful day to do so! Happy Earth Day everyone! Every Earth Day we pledge to be "green" or "eco-friendly," so I want to know what are you going to do today to be EXTRA-GREEN? (since we all are already being green.) You might have seen those commercials on Disney Channel for the new movie OCEANS, and did you know that if you go see OCEANS opening week you help save our coral reefs! So, I'm getting my family together and heading out to see OCEANS on this earth day, because it can't be any easier than that to help be "GREEN," and "eco-friendly!" Check out the site here: http://disney.go.com/disneynature/oceans/ and I hope you too will join me, and be EXTRA-GREEN today!

New Years Resolution?

Every year we come up with a new years resolution, sometimes we carry through with them and other times; admit it, we just give up. This year is going to be different, this year is the year to BE GREEN! What a great new years resolution, and thanks to my site, it can be an easy one too!

So, the holidays are here, christmas is only a couple days away, and Hanukkah is coming to an end. In the spirit of the holidays, why not go green along with red and white? I know the holidays can be overwhelming, so step back, take a break and breathe. Stress isn't good for anyone! Just keep the goal in your mind, the thought that your family can have a happy and green christmas. Electricity waste can be a big issue; with all the holiday lights. If your house is decorated just remember to turn off the lights when you go to bed, I know it's not very festive, but unplug the tree and always remember to turn the lights off when you leave a room! Happy Holidays!

Hey guys, it's me again! I just wanted to say thanks for viewing the site, we've already got a lot of views which is great because that means more teens are being educated about being eco-friendly. But I'm not stopping here, theres still a lot more teens out there who need to know about the site! So why not tell your friends, that way you can be eco-friendly together! Happy Holidays!
